Thanksgiving in Guadalupe

This is a short post because, of course, no one in Guadalupe except the Landys observes the Thanksgiving holiday.   We are thankful for our friends and family back home and for our new friends and community in Guadalupe.    To celebrate the holiday, Kate, Emmett and Annalise baked pumpkin pie (there are no pumpkins in Ecuador, so Kate brought canned pumpkin pie mix and made the crust from scratch).   Emmett and Annalise brought the pumpkin pies to school to share with their classmates.   Everyone enjoyed the strange pastel "cake" from the Estados Unidos.    Occasionally I notice one turkey roaming around the concha but I think if it were to have disappeared during Thanksgiving week, the Landys would have been prime suspects.    Alas, no Thanksgiving turkey dinner for us this year.
